Aus dem Times Literary Supplement: When the current leader’s grandfather, Kim Il-sung, launched the Korean War by invading South Korea in 1950, the then US president, Harry Truman, concluded that the attack was “very obviously inspired by the Soviet Union”. While it was true that Kim had secured Joseph Stalin’s blessing for the attack, it was unthinkable in Washington at the time that the young North Korean leader could be the principal architect. Briefing reporters outside an emergency meeting of the national security council, the US assistant secretary of state Edward Barrett explained that the relationship between Stalin and Kim Il-sung was analogous to “Walt Disney and Donald Duck”.

Eine interessante Analogie. Die hielten also seinerzeit Kim Il-Sung für letztlich bedeutender als Stalin. Hätte man auch nicht gedacht.
